Stannic Oxide [also known as SnO2, Tin Dioxide, Tin IV Oxide], is derived from Tin. The Tin forms two compounds, termed stannous and stannic. One of the most important compounds commercially is Stannic Oxide.  The Stannic Oxide is useful as a catalyst in industrial processing, in ceramics and as a polishing powder for steel.  Stannic Oxide is being widely used in a variety of glass products.
